Lapsa Speech Language Center is a private practice offering personalized Speech and Language therapy in Frederick, Maryland and the surrounding areas. Founded by Maureen T. Lapsa, M.S., CCC-SLP, the center is dedicated to delivering the highest quality service and is passionate about making a positive impact on each client's life.

Our Team and Expertise

Maureen T. Lapsa brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the field of Speech-Language Pathology. With a background in both nursing and education, she is skilled in working with individuals across the life span, addressing various speech, language, and communication challenges.

Utilizing evidence-based interventions, Maureen employs a variety of methodologies such as PROMPT, Sarah Ward Executive Function practices, Social Thinking, Lidcombe Program, Visualizing and Verbalizing, and the EmPower writing program, among others.

1. Auditory Processing Disorder (APD)

• Comprehensive assessments and interventions to address difficulties with sound processing, auditory discrimination, and attention.

2. Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS)

• Therapy to improve articulation, oral-motor skills, and fluency in young children.

3. Early Intervention

• Early intervention programs for toddlers and young children with developmental delays in speech and language.

4. Executive Function

• Strategies to enhance planning, organization, working memory, and self-regulation skills.

5. Literacy and Learning Disabilities

• Targeted interventions to improve reading comprehension, writing skills, and overall academic performance.

6. Post-Concussion Syndrome

• Assessment and treatment to address symptoms such as memory problems, attention difficulties, and language impairments.

7. Social Language Disorder

• Therapy to develop social communication skills, social understanding, and pragmatic language skills.

8. Vocal Cord Dysfunction

• Evaluation and treatment of voice problems, including vocal fold paralysis, speech fluency issues, and vocal hygiene strategies.
