How Does the Alexander Technique Work?
The Alexander Technique is a mindfulness-based method that teaches you to be more aware of your body in action, allowing you to combat the misconceptions surrounding movement and posture perpetuated by Modern Fitness and Modern yoga. By understanding how to use your body, rather than focusing on specific activities or "correct posture, " you can experience natural good posture, ease of movement, improved coordination and balance, and increased overall well-being.
Our coaching sessions focus on developing your mind-body awareness, teaching you how to release unnecessary tension, and cultivating a sense of freedom from the enslavement of habitual patterns in both body and mind. We believe that it's about right intention in action and expanded awareness rather than perfection.
Meet Cecile Raynor: Founder, Speaker, Author, and Alexander Technique Teacher
With over 30 years of experience in the Alexander Technique, Thai Yoga therapy, Reiki, and the Body Intelligence Activation (BIA) Process, Cecile Raynor has dedicated her life to helping people reduce or eliminate chronic muscular tension, pain, and joint issues, while reclaiming ease of movement, improved posture, and well-being.
Cecile has developed the BIA Process, a mind-body-spirit work designed to empower individuals to activate their body intelligence, preventing and relieving chronic tension and pain. She has also authored "The Wise Way to Yoga" and leads workshops for yoga teachers and practitioners, helping them develop a more integrated and safe practice.
