Our Story

The story of Gear Up Velo starts with Brian, a seasoned mechanic and passionate cyclist with decades of experience under his belt. His journey began with a fascination for mechanics and a love for cycling that blossomed into a lifelong pursuit of both art and engineering on two wheels. After honing his skills at several local shops, Brian decided to share his expertise and open his own boutique bike haven. Joined by Kate, whose own love for riding inspires her entrepreneurial spirit, Gear Up Velo was born.

At Gear Up Velo, our expertise extends far beyond the sale of bicycles. We offer a comprehensive range of services to cater to every cyclist's needs.

• Expert repairs and maintenance: Our certified mechanics can handle everything from routine tune-ups to complex repairs, including flat tire fixes, component replacements, and frame repairs. Notably, we do not service adult trikes, recumbent bikes, or tandems during the peak season due to limited storage space.
• Bicycle sales: From sleek road bikes to robust mountain bikes and comfortable hybrids, we curate a selection of top-quality bicycles for diverse riding styles and budgets. We also offer the exciting and versatile Scott e-Ride series.
• Specialized services: We offer bike fitting services to ensure optimal comfort and performance, and we are also proud to host the annual Miles of Memories Bike-a-Thon, a community event that raises funds for grief support.
