Our Story

At Strala Vineyards, we share a passion for wine and the wine country lifestyle. This passion led Jason and Laura Ray to come together and create our winery. Our commitment to quality is reflected in the beautiful combination of fruit from select vineyard locations, attention-to-detail winemaking, and our dedication to producing the highest quality wines.

Jason Ray

Jason founded Napa Select Vineyard Services, a high-end vineyard management company in 2005. With a background in Fruit Science and Viticulture, Jason has been working with vineyard owners in Napa and Sonoma counties to deliver fruit that is expressive of its appellation and picked at optimal ripeness. Jason's expertise has allowed him to source fruit from some of the unique vineyard locations that have been crafted into Strala wines.

Laura Ray

Laura, a Master Sommelier, brings her knowledge of wine to the team. Her experience in the medical field led her to the wine industry, where she met Jason. The passion they share for wine led them to create Strala Vineyards in 2014. Laura and Jason met while working in the Napa Valley wine industry.

Our History

In 2013, Laura and Jason met at a local Napa Valley restaurant through a mutual friend and winemaker. They started Strala Vineyards and began production with a small batch of 300 cases of red blends and cabernet. Over the years, Strala Vineyards has released new wines, including Sparkling wines, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. In 2018, Strala Vineyards released their first vintage directly to consumers, showcasing the passion and craftsmanship that goes into each wine.
