Our History

We started our journey as University Credit Union, serving the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) community. Over the years, we have grown and expanded our membership to include the 7-county Greater Birmingham Metropolitan Area. In 2006, we changed our name to Legacy Community Federal Credit Union to reflect our expanded field of membership.

Poor Customer Service

Danielle, OldSkoolWayy, Paris Powell, and Reverend Right have reported being treated poorly or rudely by staff. Danielle and Paris have specifically mentioned being hung up on or shown disrespect. OldSkoolWayy is angry about changes made to their savings account and feels that the credit union doesn't care about long-term customers. Reverend Right accuses the credit union of being scammers and warns others to stay away.

OldSkoolWayy is also unhappy about the credit union's hours, stating that they are closed on Saturdays and this causes inconvenience. Reverend Right has experienced issues with deposit and charge posting, claiming that the credit union deliberately shows inaccurate balances.
