Helvetia Winery is a warm and friendly place for family and friends to come together and enjoy a unique country winery experience. Located in the foothills of the Tualatin Mountains, the northernmost grape growing area in the Willamette Valley, we offer a serene and picturesque setting for wine enthusiasts to visit and indulge in fine wines, delicious food, and beautiful scenery.

About Us

Helvetia Winery's story began in the 1980s when John Platt and his wife, Elizabeth Furse, moved to the area and started planting grapevines on the southern slopes. In 1987, they produced their first wine, marking the beginning of a legacy that would continue to grow and develop over the years. In 1996, John and Elizabeth opened their own winery, and in 2001, they purchased the adjoining Jakob Yungen property, which features two rustic barns and a lovely old house that serves as a gathering place for wine tastings.

Helvetia Winery offers a range of wine-related experiences, including winery tours, wine tastings, and private events. Our wine tours take visitors on a fascinating journey through the growth of grapes, the art of winemaking, and the rich history of the area. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff will guide you through the process, from grape to glass, and share stories about the region and its people.

Wine Tastings

We invite you to experience our wine tastings, which take place daily from noon to 5 pm. Our tasting menu features a selection of estate wines from the Tualatin Hills, as well as warm-weather varietals from the Columbia Valley. Whether you're a wine enthusiast or just looking to indulge in a relaxing afternoon, our wine tastings are an excellent way to unwind and appreciate the beauty of our surroundings.
