Our History

Our story started in 1955 when Stewart Sandwiches was established in Bloomington, Minnesota. Shortly after, in 1961, we introduced the iconic Chuckwagon sandwich, which has remained a staple in our menu ever since. Over the years, we've evolved and expanded our offerings, introducing new products and packaging that cater to the modern consumer's needs.

In 1980, Stewart Sandwiches became the E.A. Sween Company, and our Deli Express brand entered the market. Our dream was born to provide all "on-the-go" Americans with a Deli Express sandwich. We took a significant step towards this goal in 1988 when we launched the first Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) wedges, ensuring our sandwiches stayed fresh and delicious for longer.

Fast forward to 2015, we introduced a fresh new look for Deli Express, complete with a new logo and sandwich packaging. This change reflected our ongoing commitment to innovation and quality.
