The Bethesda Chevy Chase High School PTSA (Parent-Teacher Student Association) is a vibrant organization dedicated to enriching the high school experience for every student, teacher, and family in our community. We believe in the power of collaboration and shared responsibility to foster a diverse, inclusive, and thriving educational environment.

Our Mission

Our mission is to partner with Dr. Mooney and the school administration to:

• Support student success: By providing resources, mentoring programs, and academic assistance.
• Enhance the school environment: Through fundraising, volunteering, and event planning.
• Strengthen family engagement: By facilitating communication, fostering open dialogue, and building a sense of community.
• Advocate for our school: By advocating for policy changes, resource allocation, and community needs.

What We Do

Our dedicated volunteers engage in a wide range of activities, including:

Academic Support

• College Advisory Committee: Supporting students with the admissions process and college exploration.
• Tutoring programs: Providing academic assistance to students in need.

Community Engagement

• Used Book Sale: Annual fundraiser that raises funds for school programs and activities.
• B-CC Cares: Supporting families facing financial hardship.
• Volunteer initiatives: Organizing events, cleaning projects, and fundraising campaigns.

Communication & Advocacy

• Regular newsletters and updates: Providing timely and relevant information to families.
• Advocacy efforts: Addressing school concerns and communicating with stakeholders.

Supporting Students

• Open Gym program: Offering a warm and safe space for students during cold weather.
• Mentorship programs: Connecting students with mentors from the community.

Supporting Teachers & Staff

• Recognizing and appreciating teachers and staff contributions.
• Providing support and resources for professional development.
