Our Story
At the New York Mortgage Coalition (NYMC), we believe that homeownership is a fundamental right that should be accessible to everyone. For over 30 years, we have been working towards making this vision a reality by providing education, resources, and support to low- and moderate-income individuals and families in the Greater New York area.
About Us
As a nonprofit collaboration of financial institutions and community housing agencies, our mission is to expand opportunities for responsible and sustainable homeownership to minority, low-, and moderate-income individuals and families in the five boroughs of New York City, as well as the surrounding counties. We support our neighborhood-based nonprofit members in their pre-purchase counseling, post-purchase education, and financial literacy programs. Our goal is to provide the tools and resources needed to achieve the dream of homeownership, including access to competitive, fixed-rate loans, closing cost grants, and down payment assistance.

- One-on-one counseling and coaching

- Post-purchase education and support
- Foreclosure prevention programs and counseling
Our Impact
Since 1993, we have provided homebuyer education to over 53,000 households and helped over 10,000 New Yorkers purchase their first home. Our impact is felt throughout the Greater New York area, where we have helped to create stronger, more stable communities through homeownership.
