Founded in 1908 by Polk Houston Searcy, the funeral home has been a cornerstone of the community, providing funeral and cremation services to families of all faiths and nationalities. Our Story
The story of Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory begins with Polk Houston Searcy, who left Luverne, Alabama, with his wife, Lallie Revel Searcy, in a horse and buggy to open a hardware and funeral home in downtown Enterprise. As Enterprise grew, so did the Searcy family. Polk and Lallie reared five children in Enterprise, and two of their children, Revel and Lomax, followed their father into the funeral profession. After the deaths of Revel and Lomax, Dorothy Bevis Searcy (wife of Lomax) and their son, J Lomax (Maxie) Searcy, Jr., continued the family tradition in funeral service. Lomax and Dorothy's other son, William (Bill) Searcy, joined the family in funeral service, and Bill's son, Will, is now part of the business, marking a fourth generation of Searcy family involvement.
