Gabriel Rabu, MFT is a licensed psychotherapist with over 50 years of experience in the field of mental health and well-being. With a background in bodywork, massage, and yoga, Gabriel has a deep understanding of the mind-body connection and the role it plays in our overall well-being. He is fluent in both English and French, and is committed to providing compassionate, mindful, and empowering psychotherapy to individuals and couples.

Psychotherapy for Individuals and Couples

Gabriel provides both short- and long-term psychotherapy for a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, stress reduction, life transitions, loss of meaning, retirement and aging, mindfulness and spiritual growth, men's issues, immigration and cultural identity, sexual self-expression and intimacy, disability, long-term and terminal illness, compassionate care for the dying, caregiver burnout, and artist block and search for creative self-expression. His approach is steeped in a mindful and caring relation to oneself and to others, and he strives to help his clients find the courage necessary to face and value what has not yet been acknowledged in their life, and to find the potential strengths that have not yet been harnessed.

Group Therapy

Gabriel offers two group therapy options for those looking for a supportive community to help them navigate life's challenges. The Expat's Group is open to expatriates, immigrants, emigres, exiles, and other world travelers who have made the Bay Area their home. This group provides a space for members to share their experiences, explore the hopes, dreams, regrets, pitfalls of this journey, and build self-esteem out of the very "otherness" that makes them stand out. The Biker Maintenance Men's Group is a space for bikers to address the unique challenges and existential issues that come with biker culture. This group provides support and helps members find a firm footing among the concerns underlying those situations as well as a few existential issues.

Fees

Gabriel offers a 50-minute session for $160, and a 90-minute group session for $40/session (payable in advance for the month). Sliding scale is available if needed and if it can be arranged. He takes Medi-Cal clients (via Beacon Partnership only) and can provide billing statements which you can submit for reimbursement if your insurance carrier allows you to see a psychotherapist of your choice (out-of-network provider).

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, you are required to provide a 24-hour advance notice. Otherwise, you will be charged for the full session. Confidentiality Legal and ethical responsibilities require that private sessions remain confidential. Therefore, no information will be released to another professional or agency without your written consent. Exceptions will be made only if you endanger, or may endanger, yourself or others, and/or in the case of child abuse or elder abuse.
