At Wild at Heart, we are dedicated to keeping Portland's pets healthy and happy. Our team is passionate about promoting an ethic of compassion in every aspect of our organization. We believe in livable wages, which is why we are a cooperative where all of our staff are equal owners. We support local businesses and local animal welfare organizations.

Our team is led by Greg, the founder of Wild at Heart Dog Walking & Pet-sitting. Greg grew up in a home surrounded by pets and became passionate about animal welfare when he was a teenager. He has extensive experience volunteering in shelters, specifically working with troubled dogs. After relocating to Portland, he wanted to find a way to combine his love of the outdoors and his love of animals, leading to the creation of Wild at Heart.

Jessica is a co-owner of Wild at Heart since the beginning of 2015. She is a full-time student at Portland State University and a professional pet care provider. Over the years, she has cultivated experience that has helped her work with various dog behaviors and temperaments. She is interested in helping pets maintain a healthy exercise program, enjoy social interaction, and provide relief. She is also Pet First Aid certified.

Katie joined Wild At Heart in 2018. Growing up, she always had dogs at home and has been pet-sitting and walking dogs for the past two years. She shares a house with an elder Newfoundland mix named Heidi. When she's not taking care of animal friends, she does grassroots organizing work focused on climate change prevention.

Our Services

At Wild at Heart, we offer a variety of services to cater to your pet's needs. Whether you need a quick potty break or an overnight boarding, we've got you covered.

30-Minute Walk

Our 30-minute walk is priced at $22, with a price discount for recurring walks five days per week. This service provides exercise and mental stimulation for your pup, keeping them happy and healthy. Group walks are an excellent way to socialize your pup in a controlled environment. One-on-one walks can be catered to your pup's needs, including training walks that focus on leash-reactivity, sitting, and waiting at corners, and loose-leash walking.

15-Minute Potty Break

If your pup just needs a quick potty break, this 15-minute visit is perfect! We are available to do a short walk or backyard play session. We can customize the visit to suit your dog's needs. This service is priced at $16.

Overnight Boarding

We will stay in your home with your dog(s) overnight. Boarding in kennels can be stressful for some dogs. Overnight boarding is advantageous to most dogs as they can stick to a similar daily routine and stay in their comfort zone. If dogs are dog social, they can also join us on our daily walks and spend the day making new friends and romping all around Portland. We are more than happy to water plants, feed fish, or any other small odds and ends. This service is priced at $70 per night.
