Washington Performing Arts is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing together artists, audiences, and community members through a wide range of performances and educational programs. Our mission is to champion the arts as a unifying force, and we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of our patrons and the community at large. We offer a diverse range of concerts, including classical music, gospel music, jazz, and international genres, as well as free community events and educational programs for children. We also manage the Children of the Gospel Choir, a renowned choir known for its uplifting messages and impressive artistry. Our 2023-2024 season, Together in Art and Community, includes cherished classics and world premieres, encounters with early-career artists and seasoned superstars, immersive (and free!) community events, and a 30th anniversary celebration for our acclaimed Children of the Gospel Choir.
WPAS is praised for its innovative programs, exceptional treatment of interns, and excellent job in providing classical music to the greater Washington, DC area.
WPAS is criticized for its inflexible ticket policy, which does not allow exchanges, resulting in financial losses for some customers.
