The Healthcare Council is a membership organization dedicated to helping members reduce costs, encouraging co-operative working relationships, and promoting quality healthcare in the region. They provide "strategic and business advantages" that no single institution or system can efficiently or economically develop alone. Membership is available for hospitals, systems, allied health providers including home care, hospice, comprehensive care, assisted living care, continuing care retirement communities, urgent care centers, and more. Through negotiation and competitive bidding, they develop contracts for goods and services used by the Council's members. The Healthcare Council also hosts a number of peer group meetings for professionals in various areas of management.
