Our Story

Our journey began in 2019 with a vision to bring exceptional, healthy food to the Compton community. But we quickly realized that dining out shouldn't come at the expense of environmental sustainability or animal welfare. This passion for ethical and environmentally conscious dining led us to become a champion for plant-based eating.

In 2020, during Veganuary, one of our founders embarked on a journey to reduce his meat consumption. This experience highlighted the challenges of finding affordable, delicious plant-based options outside of the home. Determined to change this, we rallied our team and began crafting a menu that would satisfy everyone.

Through the challenges and triumphs of developing a plant-based menu, we achieved our goal in 2022, making Sunny Express Gourmet Fast Food Compton the premiere vegan and plant-based destination in the area.
