Our Story

It all started on a cold, rainy afternoon in the fall of 2009 with a battle against a common foe: boredom. Seated on the couch, we began brainstorming creative ways to combat the lull. Brewing beer, a popular pastime among our friends, crossed our minds. While we certainly appreciate a cold beer on a summer day, we yearned for something more unique. Then, like a bolt of inspiration, it struck: "Wine!" This spark ignited a long-dormant passion. Growing up near the renowned Finger Lakes wine region in New York, we had developed a deep appreciation for the art and enjoyment of fine wine. Fueled by this newfound enthusiasm, we delved into research and decided to embark on our first winemaking adventure at home. A short drive landed us at "City Scape Winery, " a local establishment that served as both a winery and supplier of everything needed to begin our journey. With newfound knowledge and the necessary equipment in hand, we embarked on our transformation from casual enthusiasts to aspiring vintners.

Five years of dedicated experimentation and refinement followed. We honed our skills, expanded our palate, and discovered the joy of experimenting with different grapes and techniques. By 2012, our hobby had grown into a shared passion, culminating in the creation of ten distinct wines for our wedding. The resounding success of our homemade creations inspired us to scale up our production. We transformed one of our guest rooms into a makeshift wine cellar, complete with vaulted shelving and a dedicated HVAC system to ensure optimal storage conditions.

A pivotal moment arrived in late 2015 when fate presented an extraordinary opportunity. With a blend of trepidation and excitement, we took a leap of faith, leaving our full-time jobs to pursue our dream wholeheartedly. We invested in the "City Scape Winery" that had captured our hearts and set about transforming it into a destination for wine lovers and those seeking a relaxing escape.

We are Josh and Debra Jones, the owners and winemakers at City Scape Winery. Our journey began with a simple desire to create something unique and special, and it has blossomed into a lifelong passion that we share with visitors every day. We take pride in crafting small-batch wines using time-honored techniques and locally sourced ingredients.
