New Haven Yacht Club

The New Haven Yacht Club is a thriving community of sailors and sailing enthusiasts based in the Morris Cove section of New Haven, Connecticut. Our club is an informal cooperative of individuals who are passionate about spending time on the water. With a focus on promoting the joy of sailing, we offer a range of activities, including daysailing, racing, cruising, and social events. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming and inclusive community, with members coming from a diverse range of backgrounds and locations, even as far as Westchester, NY, and Hartford, CT.

At the New Haven Yacht Club, we do not own or rent boats. Instead, our members keep their boats on moorings or drysail them. This unique setup fosters a strong sense of camaraderie and collaboration, as members come together to help each other enjoy their shared passion for sailing. Our club is an excellent place for both experienced sailors and those new to the sport, providing opportunities for growth, skills development, and lifelong friendships.

Services Offered by the New Haven Yacht Club

• Daysailing: Members enjoy leisurely daysails, taking advantage of our prime location on the water to enjoy the beauty of Long Island Sound. Whether you want to soak up the sun, spend quality time with friends and family, or simply enjoy the serenity of being on the water, the New Haven Yacht Club offers the perfect setting for a relaxing day out.
• Racing: For those who enjoy a little friendly competition, the club hosts regular races that cater to sailors of all skill levels. Our racing events, such as the Mayor's Cup, provide an exciting opportunity for experienced sailors to showcase their skills and for novices to learn from more seasoned racers.
• Cruising: Each summer, members participate in a series of weekend cruises. These organized trips offer a chance to explore various destinations along the coast in a safe and supportive environment.
