Sovereign Therapy Center is a therapist-owned holistic boutique private speech practice based primarily in McDonough, GA. We have been serving a variety of children in the metropolitan Atlanta community and surrounding suburbs since 2004. Our mission is to provide comprehensive treatment and services to children and adolescents, helping them achieve supreme communication, health, and wellness. We believe that this is a human right, and we embrace all cultures in our practice.

Our team of experienced and highly trained therapists works closely with trusted professionals, including public and private school districts, charter schools, pediatricians, primary care physicians, audiologists, developmental psychologists, reading specialists, academic tutors, Dyslexia Specialists, Registered Dietitians, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT), Special Education Advocacy Specialists, and social workers.

Dr. April Patterson, CCC-SLP.D, the founder of Sovereign Therapy Center, has received the highest levels of education and training in the field of speech-language pathology. She has a Bachelors of Arts in Developing Communication Across the Lifespan with a minor in Sociology from Georgia State University, a Master's of Science in Speech Language Pathology & Audiology from Tennessee State University, and a Clinical Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology & Audiology from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Patterson is a certified member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association and licensed to practice Speech Language Pathology in the state of Georgia and California.

With over 20 years of experience in the field of speech language pathology, Dr. Patterson has distinct specialty areas in language, articulation, and teletherapy (Virtual) speech therapy, in which she has received years of advanced education. Dr. Patterson is passionate about the work she does and is highly motivated, dedicated, and compassionate about helping you and your family. She values collaboration with your child's pediatrician and other behavior health providers/specialists in order to help your child achieve their highest developmental potential.
