Learn, Grow, and Thrive with Us!

San Anselmo Cooperative Nursery School is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization that has been providing a unique experience for young children and their parents to learn and grow alongside one another since 1947. Our Co-Op community is thriving, and we're excited to celebrate our 75th year anniversary!

Our Philosophy

At San Anselmo Co-Op, we believe that the strength, interest, and talents of participating parents provide the energy that fuels the school. By sharing experiences, insights, joys, and struggles, relationships are nurtured, and friendships are made. Relying on parent ingenuity, teamwork, and labor helps keep fees low and the program available to a wide spectrum of people. By working closely with our teachers, parents enhance their ability to interpret child behavior and to influence it constructively. They also grow more objective about their own child's development by observing and understanding many children, each time they work at the school.

Our Programs

We offer a Morning Program with a tuition of $515 per month, and an Afternoon Program with prices starting at $30 for a 12-2 p.m. reserved spot. Financial aid is available, and we encourage you to contact our Membership Chairperson for more information. We also have a Waitlist for entrance to the co-op, and you can place your child on the list by filling out the Application Form and mailing it in with a $50 non-refundable application fee.

Our Goals

We aim to foster physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth in each child by providing opportunities to explore the world and discover new things in a playful and meaningful way. With a flexible daily routine, we strive to achieve a balance between spontaneity and structure. We hope that this strong foundation helps set the pace for a lifelong love of learning.

Our Community

Our school has served the communities of Marin since 1947, and we hope to keep going strong for years to come! Our Co-Op community is built on the principles of teamwork, mutual respect, and a shared passion for education. We welcome families of all races, colors, religions, and national and ethnic origins without regard to sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status.
