Founded by Dee Smith, a respected black belt with a lineage tracing back to the renowned Gracie Academy and further cemented by his training with prestigious masters like Julio "Foca" Fernandez and Andrew "Judo Goat" Smith, Absolute embodies a wealth of experience and dedication to the art.

Our Instructors and Their Legacy

Dee Smith, the academy's founder and head instructor, is a seasoned martial arts practitioner. With over two decades of experience, he started his journey in Los Angeles at the Gracie Academy, immersing himself in the foundational principles of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His commitment to continuous learning led him to train with a multitude of world-class black belts, refining his technique and expanding his understanding of the discipline. Dee's dedication extends beyond Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, as he has further honed himself through kickboxing training under esteemed figures like Duke Roufus, famed for his role in training numerous UFC Champions, and Duane "Bang" Ludwig, a legendary kickboxer within the UFC.
