Group Dog Walks

At The Dogista, we offer group dog walks for up to 8 compatible canine friends. These outings take place on the beautiful East Bay trails, covering neighborhoods such as Pinole, El Sobrante, parts of Richmond, El Cerrito, Kensington, Berkeley Hills, and Upper North Berkeley. We believe in providing a well-rounded experience for your dog, focusing on quality time spent together with a balanced mix of play and bonding activities. Our group dog walks are an ideal means of both exercising and socializing your dog, while ensuring that they receive the human companionship they crave.

Dog Boarding

If you're in need of dog boarding services, look no further than The Dogista. We welcome cat-friendly and well-socialized guests up to 40 pounds into our home, located in a safe and quiet neighborhood in Pinole Valley. Our in-home boarding provides a luxurious and relaxed experience for your dog, ensuring they receive individual attention and care in a comfortable environment. With a maximum of 4 guests per night, your dog is guaranteed one-on-one time with our caring staff.

Meet the Owner: Maribel Izquierdo-Rodriguez

Maribel Izquierdo-Rodriguez, owner of The Dogista, understands the importance of providing quality care and attention to dogs. After experiencing the loss of her two beloved dogs, Kai and Noa, to cancer, Maribel decided to pursue a career centered around animals. She became a dogbiz Dog Walking Academy certified dog walker, Pet First Aid & CPR certified by American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI), fully insured through Kennel Pro - Mourer Foster, Inc., and an East Bay Regional Park District Professional Dog Walking Permit holder. Maribel is committed to ongoing education and training in canine behavior, body language, training methodologies, pack dynamics, nutritional needs, and more.

Maribel grew up in Germany and has lived in various parts of the U.S. before settling in the Bay Area in 1999. She is a tribal college graduate (Dine College, Navajo Nation) and holds a B.A. in Native American Studies and a M.A in History. In 2005, Maribel adopted her first dog, Kai, and took in Noa the following year. Over the years, Maribel has adopted and fostered other dogs and cats, who have become her family. In her free time, Maribel enjoys gardening and baking.
