Our Story

The story of Spiegel and Son Jewelers began in 1947, a time of rebuilding and hope, when my late father, Martin Spiegel, a World War II refugee, immigrated to America from his native Czechoslovakia. Driven by a passion for craftsmanship and a determination to build a new life, he opened a small jewelry shop in downtown Cleveland. My father possessed an extraordinary talent for working with precious metals and gemstones. A gifted goldsmith and accomplished diamond setter, he quickly earned a reputation for flawless work, unwavering punctuality, and incredibly fair pricing. Starting as a repair shop, serving primarily local retail jewelry stores, my father's meticulous attention to detail drew the admiration of his peers and solidified his professional standing.

Simultaneously, my father cultivated a modest retail business, offering exquisite engagement rings, wedding bands, and a curated selection of diamond and colored gem jewelry. Word of his European craftsmanship, coupled with his warm, unpretentious demeanor, spread through the community, drawing clientele eager to experience the unique blend of artistry and integrity that he embodied.
