AllenForce is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Illinois, dedicated to fostering a successful transition for veterans and their families through health, fitness, and recreation. Our mission is to empower current and former service members, families, and communities with knowledge for healthy integration and lifelong camaraderie.
Our organization was founded in 2009 in memory of Donna's father, Don Allen, an Army Veteran. Since then, we have expanded to offer a range of programs and services that cater to the unique needs of veterans from all eras. Our four main programs include Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies (HMHB), SheForce, VETANK, and Vet Rec, each designed to promote a healthy and successful lifestyle for veterans and their loved ones.
Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies (HMHB)
HMHB was launched in 2009 in partnership with NEDSRA, to assist veterans who are injured, both visibly and invisibly, through positive health and fitness training and social networking. The program offers free fitness memberships and personal training to injured or ill veterans, along with monthly educational events. These services are provided through licensed fitness centers throughout the nation, and the program has been well-received by veterans and their families, growing nationwide.
SheForce
SheForce empowers women directly impacted by the military with the confidence to reconnect and honor themselves. We emphasize taking time out to embrace their needs through a holistic approach to life. SheForce provides opportunities for women to come together and support each other through shared experiences and activities.
VETANK
VETANK provides a network of all-terrain chairs available to borrow individually or for use at community events by qualified veterans. This enables independent mobility and participation in outdoor and adventure recreation, fostering a sense of independence and community.
Vet Rec
Vet Rec provides veterans and their loved ones with opportunities to experience adventure sports and recreation that will build on their strengths, challenge their limits, and provide camaraderie and competition. These activities provide a sense of community and support, helping veterans adjust to life after serving.
Education and Community Collaborations
AllenForce is committed to advocating and educating on the unique needs of veterans and their families. We promote non-competitive community collaborations essential for veterans and their families to lead healthy and successful lifestyles. We offer recurring activities, special events, volunteer opportunities, and community and professional education programs to support veterans and their families on their journey toward healing and empowerment.
