Ballet For All Kids

Ballet For All is a nonprofit organization that was established in 2008 with the goal of making dance accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities, body type, or learning style. Our signature method, the Schlachte Method, is a certified curriculum that has been developed and perfected over the past 25 years. We believe that everyone has unique abilities that can be used as a foundation for learning new skills and building a sense of personal fulfillment. Our mission is to provide a welcoming community for all dancers to express themselves creatively.

Our Programs

Ballet For All Kids is a non-profit program that teaches classical ballet and other dance styles using the Schlachte Method. We offer a less restrictive environment that is tailored to the needs of each student. Our approach combines individualized attention, support, and mentorship to help every student succeed.

Inclusive Ballet For All Kids is a program that teaches classical ballet technique to students of all abilities, body types, and learning styles. This program is designed to accommodate all dancers and help them reach their full potential.

Elite Ballet is a program that provides premier ballet technique to our dancers. Our teachers are highly trained professionals who have studied at institutions such as the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory Choreographic Institute in St. Petersburg, Russia and the Joffrey School of Ballet.

Our Team

Bonnie Schlachte, Founding Director - Bonnie is the founder and leader of Ballet For All Kids. She has spent the past 25 years developing and implementing the Schlachte Method, a proven method of teaching the arts effectively in an inclusive environment. Under her guidance, Ballet for All Kids has inspired countless young dancers to pursue their passions and reach their full potential.

Brett Weidlich, Ballet Instructor - Brett teaches ballet at our Agoura Hills, CA location. He has an impressive ballet pedigree, holding a double Master of Arts degree in Choreography and as Ballet Master from the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory Choreographic Institute in St. Petersburg, Russia. Brett has performed with several prestigious ballet companies around the world, including the Zurich National Ballet, Mexico City Ballet Theatre, Australian Ballet Theatre, Polish National Ballet Theatre, and the Ballet Monte Carlo.

Katherine Lin, Ballet Instructor - Katherine teaches in our NYC location while pursuing a degree in Psychology at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City. She has been with Ballet For All Kids since 2016 and has a passion for combining children's education and performing arts. She enjoys teaching and mentoring students of all ages and abilities through both private and group classes.

Kailie Katz, Technology Admin - Kailie has been volunteering with Ballet For All Kids since 2009. She has a B.S. in Business Management and is training to become an Occupational Therapist. Kailie is trained in ballet, tap, and jazz and has many years of experience working with students of all abilities. She has taught classes, designed costumes, managed fundraisers, and much more at BFAK.
