At Thornton's Whitewater Rafting Resort & Campgrounds, we offer a unique and exciting experience for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike. Our resort is nestled in the heart of Wisconsin's beautiful northwoods, providing access to a wide range of activities and amenities.

Our Resort

Our resort is designed to provide you with a comfortable and relaxing stay, whether you're looking to unwind or try something new. We have cabins and camping directly on the trail system, allowing you to explore the surrounding woods and enjoy the great outdoors. Our bar and restaurant, Camp Inn, is open all year round, providing a cozy atmosphere and delicious food and drinks. From hamburgers to locally made pizzas, we have something for everyone.

Kayaking

Leave the stress of the city behind and enjoy the beautiful scenery that Caldron Falls Lake has to offer right across the road from Thornton's Resort. Rent one of our lake kayaks and check out the island and inlets on the lake. Our kayaking rates are $25.00 for a half-day (up to four hours) rental, including delivery and pick-up of the kayaks.

Camping

Our 18-acre campground features individual water and electric sites, as well as individual and large, wooded group sites. Each site has its own picnic table and fire pit, and we have many spacious, wooded campsites with several fire pits and picnic tables to accommodate larger groups. Our modern shower and restroom facilities are within walking distance of all sites, and we welcome pets as long as they are kept on a leash and cleaned up after.

Activities in the Area

In addition to our on-site activities, there are plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. Caldron Lake, a 1300-acre full recreation lake, is just across the road from the resort, offering swimming, fishing, and boating opportunities. We are also close to golfing, horseback riding, hiking, and site-seeing, as well as the best waterfall tour in the state of Wisconsin.

UTV/ATV Trails

Guests can access both the north and south ATV/UTV trails from our resort, and we have cabins and camping directly on the trail system. Whether you're an experienced rider or just looking for a new adventure, our trails have something for everyone.
