At Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center, our mission is to enrich lives through the power of horses, team, and community. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to break down barriers and reach their full potential, regardless of their abilities or challenges. For over two decades, we have been harnessing the therapeutic power of horses to help individuals overcome physical, emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and developmental challenges.

Our Story

Founded in 1998, Giant Steps has grown to become a leading therapeutic riding and equine-assisted program in the country. Over the years, we have served more than 60 distinct disabilities and challenges, including members of our military. Our program is designed to provide a safe and inclusive environment where people of all ages and abilities can come together to learn, grow, and thrive.

Our Programs

Our programs are designed to enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of individuals with disabilities. Our services include:

• Adaptive Riding: Our most popular program, adaptive riding is a form of therapeutic riding that enhances cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well-being.
• Equine Facilitated Learning: Conducted in small groups, EFL consists of unmounted lessons that include engaging activities with horses that teach character development and reinforce life skills.
• Tailored Experiences: We offer customized experiences ranging from one-day trips for members of the disabled community who are unable to ride but who want to interact with our horses to girls building leadership skills over the course of a year.
