Solstice Restaurant has been a staple in the Kingston community since its opening in 2003. Husband-and-wife team John and Hollie Cataldi, who met while working in the culinary industry, had a shared vision of creating a restaurant that would provide innovative cuisine using the freshest products available, without ever compromising on quality or flavor. Their dream became a reality when they transformed an old train station into the vibrant eatery we know today.
Over the years, Solstice has earned a reputation for providing exceptional dining experiences, with a focus on creative dishes, quality ingredients, and an inviting atmosphere. Our chefs are dedicated to creating menus that showcase their culinary skills and passion for flavor, while our staff ensures that every guest feels welcomed and appreciated.
Meet the Kitchen
Chef/Owner John Cataldi was born in Boston and raised on the South Shore. He developed his passion for food by working in his family's restaurants and learning the traditions of his southern Italian roots. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, John began his career on the west coast, working for acclaimed chefs Ruggero Gadaldi and Bradley Ogden. He eventually returned east and became the executive chef at the American Bounty Restaurant on Nantucket Island, earning him the reputation of "New Chef on the Block."
John's culinary journey eventually led him to Kingston, where he and his wife Hollie opened Solstice Restaurant in 2003. Since then, John has dedicated himself to providing innovative cuisine and creating an atmosphere that is convivial, approachable, and a haven for those who simply love food.
