Nestled amidst the rolling hills of Paso Robles, Barr Estate Winery is a small, family-owned vineyard, boutique winery, and tasting room. Founded by Tealy and Greg, passionate wine enthusiasts with a deep appreciation for the California terroir, the winery has become known for its handcrafted, single-vineyard estate wines.
Our Journey
Tealy and Greg's love for wine blossomed during their travels throughout Europe in the 1970s and 1980s. This sparked a desire to pair their culinary experiences with the rich flavors of Californian wines. In 2007, they found their perfect setting in Paso Robles, drawn by its ideal climate and soil composition. Their son, Geoff, joined the family business in 2008, driven by his love for the outdoors and desire to learn about grape growing.
Winemaking Philosophy
At Barr Estate Winery, winemaking starts in the vineyard. Guided by experienced consultant Signe Zoller, Greg crafts limited production wines that showcase the unique character of each varietal and the Terroir of the Paso Robles appellation. Their handcrafted wines are known for their elegance, balance, and food-pairing potential.
