North Texas Aikido

We are a free-standing Iwama-style Aikido dojo located in Allen, Texas, dedicated to providing a safe, friendly, and peaceful environment for students to learn and grow in the martial art of Aikido. Our expert instructors, led by Russell Alvey Sensei, offer classes every Tuesday through Sunday, catering to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.

Our Aikido Classes

At North Texas Aikido, we take pride in our commitment to preserving the traditional teachings of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido. Our Iwama-style Aikido classes focus on developing the whole person - physically, mentally, and spiritually - through rigorous training and dedication. We believe that progress comes to those who train and train, and we strive to create an atmosphere that fosters learning, growth, and self-improvement.

Our Lineage

Our dojo is part of the California Aikido Association, and our instructors have undergone extensive training in the Iwama-style tradition, which is known for its emphasis on spiritual development, harmony, and balance. We are honored to continue the legacy of Morihiro Saito Shihan, a close student of O-Sensei, who was given responsibility over the Iwama dojo after O-Sensei's death.
