Our Story

The Discovery Center is a family-owned and operated child care center that has been serving the local community since 1994. Our mission is to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters growth, learning, and development for children from infancy to kindergarten age. We pride ourselves on our commitment to providing individualized attention and care to each child, recognizing that every child is unique and special.

Our Philosophy

At the Discovery Center, we believe that children learn best through play and life experiences. Our philosophy is built on the premise that children learn and develop constantly, and that our role as caregivers is to support and facilitate this learning. We recognize that every child is an individual with their own strengths, weaknesses, and needs, and we strive to provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment that meets those needs.

Our goals at the Discovery Center are to provide individualized growth for each child in a creative, fun, safe, and caring environment. We aim to provide well-qualified, experienced teachers who provide quality care in partnership with parents. We also strive to provide affordable, competitive pricing and to meet the unique needs of each child and their family.

How We Achieve Our Goals

To achieve our goals, we provide individualized care for each child. Our teachers know every child's name and understand their development stage, self-esteem is emphasized, and developmentally appropriate curriculum is provided. We provide a nurturing environment, encouraging children to feel safe, secure, and loved. We also foster good communication with parents, with regular meetings, surveys, and reports.

Our Programs

We offer a range of programs designed to meet the needs of children from infancy to kindergarten age. Our programs include infant care, toddler care, preschool care, and school-age care. We also offer a summer camp program and regular field trips. Our curriculum is designed to be flexible and tailored to the unique needs of each child.

Our Teachers

Our teachers are well-qualified and experienced professionals who are dedicated to providing quality care and education to our children. Our preschool teachers have degrees in early childhood education or a related field, and our teachers are trained to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment.

Our Facilities

Our center is conveniently located on the Eastside, on the border of Kirkland and Redmond. We have a fully-equipped playground and a secure, fenced-in outdoor play area. Our facilities are designed to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow.
