Serra High School

Serra Catholic High School is a small, co-educational Catholic institution located on a beautiful private campus nestled in a residential neighborhood. We are committed to providing a comprehensive education that fosters the intellectual, moral, and spiritual growth of our students. Our mission is to follow Christ's command to Saint Francis of Assisi to "rebuild his Church, " and we strive to achieve this by nurturing the intellectual curiosity of our students and serving as role models of Catholic values.

Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to helping each student achieve their full potential, both academically and personally. We believe that the education we provide, in collaboration with parents, equips our students to make moral and ethical decisions grounded in gospel values. Our students are encouraged to excel in the classroom, on the field, and in life, always moving "always forward" toward fulfilling Junipero Serra's calling, "Amor A Dios!"

History

Serra Catholic High School was established with the goal of providing a high-quality Catholic education to students from various backgrounds. Our school is named after Saint Junipero Serra, a Spanish Franciscan friar who was one of the founding fathers of California. His legacy of spreading the gospel and serving others continues to inspire our community.

Our Mission

Our mission at Serra Catholic High School is to evangelize young men and women in the Catholic, Franciscan tradition. We aim to form students spiritually, morally, academically, and socially to follow Christ's command to Saint Francis to rebuild his Church. We believe that by nurturing the natural charisms of our students and directing them toward service within the Church and their communities, we can help them become compassionate, thoughtful, and responsible individuals who make a positive impact in the world.

Services Offered

At Serra Catholic High School, we offer a wide range of services to support the academic, personal, and spiritual growth of our students. These include:

• Academic Departments: We offer a comprehensive curriculum that includes various academic departments such as English, Mathematics, Science, History, and Foreign Languages. Our dedicated faculty members are committed to providing a challenging and supportive learning environment for our students.

• College in High School Program: We offer a College in High School Program that allows students to earn college credits while still in high school. This program is designed to help students get a head start on their college education and prepare them for the academic rigor of higher education.

• Honors Societies: We have several honors societies that recognize students who excel academically. These societies provide opportunities for students to engage in leadership roles, participate in community service projects, and develop their skills and talents.

• Graduation: Our graduation ceremony is a special event that celebrates the achievements of our graduating seniors. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in the world.

• St. Anthony School Program: We offer a special program for students with learning disabilities. This program is designed to provide additional support and accommodations to help these students succeed academically and personally.

• Faith: We are committed to fostering the spiritual growth of our students. We offer various faith-based activities and programs, including daily prayer, weekly Mass, and annual retreats. Our San Damiano Chapel provides a peaceful and sacred space for students to reflect, pray, and grow in their faith.

• Campus Ministry: Our campus ministry program is designed to help students deepen their faith and develop a sense of compassion and service to others. We offer various activities and events that promote spiritual growth and encourage students to live out their faith in their daily lives.

• Clubs and Activities: We offer a variety of clubs and activities that cater to different interests and talents. These include sports teams, music and arts programs, and service organizations. We believe that these extracurricular activities help students develop important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and time management.

• Athletics: We have a strong athletics program that includes various sports such as football, basketball, soccer, and volleyball. Our coaches are dedicated to helping students develop their athletic skills and promoting values such as sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.

• Music Department: Our music department offers various programs and activities that allow students to develop their musical talents. These include choirs, bands, and instrumental lessons.

• Alumni Reunions: We regularly host alumni reunions that provide opportunities for our graduates to reconnect with old friends and classmates. These events also give us a chance to celebrate the accomplishments and achievements of our alumni.

• Transcript Request: We offer a transcript request service for our alumni who need official copies of their academic records.
