New Life UMC Preschool

At New Life Preschool, we believe that the early education of a child is the foundation of growth and development needed for a lifetime. As a ministry of New Life UMC since 2002, our mission is to provide an enriching, loving, and creative small class environment where children are free to explore and learn according to their individual needs.

Our Program

We offer a part-time preschool program that provides children ages 18 months to Kindergarten with their first opportunity to experience school in a fun and exciting way. Our curriculum is designed to provide a strong educational foundation for children, preparing them for kindergarten and the world beyond. We believe that children learn best through hands-on activities, and our teachers make every effort to build our lessons around developmentally appropriate practices.

The Importance of Play

Play is an essential part of the learning process, and we recognize its importance in our program. Through play, children are able to put into action the concepts and ideas presented to them in a way that is relevant to their understanding and developmental needs. Play encourages intellectual learning, including predicting, hypothesizing, reasoning, and theorizing.

Goals of the Preschool Program

Our goals are to provide a strong educational foundation for children and prepare them for kindergarten and the world beyond. We accomplish this by providing an enriching, caring, and creative environment where children learn through the joy and adventure of hands-on play. We guide children to reach their full potential to become problem solvers who are self-reliant, confident, respectful, compassionate, and responsible.

We are proud to have received several awards, including "Best Child Care" and "Best Educational Experience" in Midlothian from Winnie.com, as well as the Richmond Sportsbackers' Active RVA Certified Early Childhood Education Providers Award and Midlothian's Best Awards' "The Best Preschool" award.
