Herbert N. Block founded Herbert's Jewelers in October 1938, originally called "Herbert's Credit Jewelers." Herbert offered credit terms to all customers-a rare and customer-focused approach during that time. Our original store, located downtown, offered an array of items, from elegant engagement rings to fine china to bowling balls. The store's slogan, "A dollar down and a dollar a week, " epitomizes Herbert's vision of accessibility and affordability in the world of fine jewelry.

In 1975, Herbert's son, Ed, returned to Kenosha after working as a criminal defense attorney in Dallas. Ed assumed leadership of the family business and expanded on his father's mission of excellence. He pursued education from the Gemological Institute of America, further solidifying the store's reputation for expertise. In 1983, Ed moved the store to its current location on 7539 39th Ave, Kenosha, WI, alongside Luigi's Pizza.
