Byam Engineering has a long-standing policy of personal and professional integrity and attention to detail. Founded in 1953 by Frank L. Byam III, the company has a rich history in civil engineering, land surveying, and land planning. Frank, an Installations Engineer in the United States Air Force, returned from the Korean War and started Byam Construction and Engineering. Over the years, the firm evolved to focus on civil/consulting engineering and land surveying, moving to its current location in 1973. The emphasis on accuracy and efficiency has been a cornerstone of the company's success.

The continuity of the firm was ensured by Fred Byam and Brad Byam, sons of the founder. They started with hands-on experience on survey crews, progressed to drafting and blueprinting, and eventually took on more significant responsibilities, including design and engineering calculations.
