Established in 1987, The Rainbow School has a long history of providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children to grow and develop. Our comprehensive kindergarten preparatory program in Issaquah, WA is designed to help children become enthusiastic learners and successful students.
Our Philosophy
At The Rainbow School, we believe that self-esteem is everything. Our program is designed to foster self-esteem, self-confidence, and creativity through a combination of play and structured pre-academics. We believe that when children are confident, secure, and feel good about themselves, they are free to use their own special gifts and talents. We strive to provide a stable, emotionally mature, and supportive environment that allows children to thrive and reach their full potential.
Our Programs
We offer a range of programs designed to cater to the unique needs and interests of our students. Our comprehensive kindergarten preparatory program is designed to help students meet and/or exceed the Issaquah School District's student learning objectives for entering kindergarteners. Our program is theme-based and uses specific themes to achieve learning objectives. We also offer a part-time, four-hour Pre-K Only program for children who turn 4 by August 31, which focuses on academics in the morning hours and expanding on what they have learned in the afternoon.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to foster independence, self-confidence, and natural curiosity. We encourage children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their own ideas and think their own thoughts. Our program allows children to learn at their own pace and in ways best suited for the individual. We follow "developmentally appropriate practice" guidelines as set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Before & After School Program
Our Before & After School Program for children in Grades K-2 is recreational in nature. We provide a "fun place to be" rather than somewhere the children feel they "have to be". Regularly planned activities include cooking, arts and crafts, theatre arts, various sports, field trips, and movie days.
