Welcome to Double Bar Music, where we're passionate about helping musicians of all ages and skill levels achieve their goals. Founded by Marcelle Gauvin and her daughter Kelsey Jacobsen, our music school combines decades of experience in music education and performance to create an environment that fosters learning, growth, and joyful expression. Our team of instructors, all working professionals with music performance or education degrees, understand the demands of being a modern musician and strive to equip students with the skills they need to succeed.

Our Services

At Double Bar Music, we offer a wide range of services including private and group music lessons, performances, and instrument rentals. Our music lessons cater to various instruments such as violin, ukulele, piano, guitar, drums, cello, and more, as well as vocal training for singers. We also provide regular performance opportunities for our students to help them develop their skills in a live setting. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced musician, our instructors are dedicated to helping you reach your full potential.

Our instructors emphasize the importance of proper instrument care, productive practice habits, and a realistic understanding of the music business. By combining technical skills with performance opportunities and music business knowledge, we aim to produce well-rounded musicians who are equipped for success in the industry.

Summer of Rock

In the summer of 2019, we hosted the Summer of Rock program, which offered intensive music training and performance opportunities for students. This program was designed to push musicians out of their comfort zones and help them develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment. We're proud to have seen such significant growth and improvement in our students following this program.

Studio Policies

We're committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all our students. Our studio is open Monday through Thursday from 12 to 8 pm, Friday from 12 to 7 pm, and Saturday from 9 to 2 pm. Please note that we are closed for Winter Break from December 21, 2023, to January 2, 2024. For any inquiries or to schedule lessons, please email us here.
