At Vancosta's, we are a family-owned and operated Italian restaurant located in Hampton, Virginia. Our story began in 2009 when Tony and Leigh Mead purchased the restaurant, bringing with them a wealth of experience in the culinary industry. Tony and Leigh, along with their two children, Heather and Nick, are deeply rooted in the local community and are committed to providing exceptional dining experiences for families and friends.

Our History

Tony, a Kecoughtan High School graduate, started his journey at Vancostas' as a dishwasher at the age of 15. He later met Leigh in 1992 while working at Chi-Chi's Mexican restaurant in Orlando. Throughout their careers, they managed well-known restaurant chains, always seeking the perfect opportunity to own a restaurant close to their hearts. Tony's familiarity with Vancostas' and the Olde Wythe area made it the ideal choice for their new venture.

Community Involvement

As part of their commitment to the community, Tony and Leigh actively participate in local events, sponsorships, and fundraisers. They have made significant donations to various schools and civic organizations, as well as provided support to the Hampton-Wythe Little league and Wythe "WAHOOS" swim team. This dedication to the community is reflected in their warm and welcoming atmosphere, making every guest feel like part of the family.
