Our club has a fascinating history that dates back to the late 1960s when Bruno Mols and Fernando Gillis, a Belgian family, purchased a vast tract of land in the picturesque Paraiso Valley in southern Spain. With a vision to create a world-class golf course, they laid the foundation for what would become El Paraiso Golf Club.
Over the years, our club has undergone several transformations, with changes in ownership and significant investments in course improvements. In 1973, the club was opened to the public, and with Gary Player's design, it has been recognized as one of the best-designed golf courses in Andalucia.
The Member-Owned Club
In 1996, the club underwent a significant change when the members successfully purchased the clubhouse and golf course from Wimpey, a UK-based construction company. This marked a significant milestone in the club's history, as it became one of the few member-owned golf clubs on the Costa del Sol.
As a member-owned club, all profits are invested into the club and course improvements, ensuring that our members and visitors can enjoy a championship course designed by a legendary golfer while immersing themselves in the stories and traditions of the club.
