Our Story

In 2009, mother-daughter team Susan Mitchell and Kathleen Petersen embarked on a mission to create an elite facility where the care of the horse is paramount. Drawing on their combined experience and knowledge of horse care, they built Annwyn Equestrian Center, a haven for horses and riders alike. As the center evolved, it transitioned from an elite boarding facility to an elite dressage training facility, cementing its reputation as a premier destination for equestrian enthusiasts.

Our Services

At Annwyn Equestrian Center, we offer a range of services designed to support the growth and success of horses and riders. Our expert trainers, Kathleen Petersen and Susan Mitchell, provide personalized instruction and training in dressage, hunter/jumper, and equitation. Our full-service boarding facilities provide top-notch care for your horse, including customized feeding programs, regular veterinary care, and exceptional stall accommodations. We also host shows, events, and clinics, offering opportunities for riders to compete, learn, and connect with the equestrian community.

Our Team

Our team is led by Kathleen Petersen, USDF bronze and silver medalist and L Program graduate with over 22 years of experience in training and caring for horses. Kathleen's expertise spans training, competing, and coaching, with a focus on dressage and hunter/jumper disciplines. She is joined by Susan Mitchell, assistant trainer and riding instructor, who brings over 20 years of experience in teaching and competing in dressage, hunter/jumper, and equitation.
