Earthen Craft Pottery is the artistic partnership of Katie Hobson and Brian Davis, two full-time artists based in Michigan. Since 1999, they have dedicated themselves to exploring the captivating world of clay, transforming the humble material into stunning, handcrafted tiles and ornamentations.

Inspired by the Natural World

Drawing inspiration from the beauty of their surrounding landscape, Katie and Brian meticulously research architectural features and ancient stone carvings. This deep connection to the natural world is reflected in their work's simplicity and elegant forms. The artists find inspiration in the refined elegance of forest landscapes and the rugged beauty of the Great Lakes region.

The Art of Handcrafted Tiles

Their meticulous process begins with hand-carved plaster molds, capturing intricate details of natural forms. Each tile is formed using a traditional wooden press, resulting in unique imperfections that enhance their character. With multiple coats of hand-painted glaze, the tiles achieve a rich and diverse palette, ranging from soothing mossy greens to calming lake blues.
