Our Story
The founder, Walter H. Pickens, Sr., entered the jewelry business in 1940. After serving his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he resumed his work as an apprentice and trade shop foreman. In 1946, he began working for Albert Wyatt Jewelers in downtown Atlanta, eventually buying the company in 1973. The company incorporated to become Pickens, Inc. in 1979.

Our jewelry is made to last and can be passed down generation to generation, becoming family heirlooms. Walter H. Pickens, Jr., Vice President, is a graduate of the University of Georgia in Business Administration and a Graduate Gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America. He combined his business and gemology knowledge with his father's forty years of trade shop expertise to open a retail storefront in 1982.
