Our History
Koop Diamond Cutters was founded on April 1, 1966, by Clarence "Whitey" Koop. Initially, Whitey focused solely on cutting diamonds. When his son Butch began working in the business, Butch demonstrated a flair for design, creating custom Koop jewelry pieces on an individual basis. In 1974, Butch founded the Cincinnati Casting Company, where he designed and cast precious metals into the shapes needed for custom jewelry. Butch operated Cincinnati Casting Company under the same roof as Koop Diamond Cutters for a few years until the men decided to merge the businesses. Butch's son Justin joined the business in 1997, expanding the services to offer a full manufacturing facility, along with a retail center for fine jewelry.
