Our Story
Hug Jeweler's has been providing quality service for over 120 years. The birth of their legacy dates back to the 1880s when Mr. Schemel founded Schemel's Jewelers with a young teen-aged apprentice, Andy Hug, under his wing. Inspired by his mentor's influence, Andy carried on the Schemel name when he purchased the business to pursue his passion in 1920. The family celebrated its second generation in the business when Andy took on his own apprentice, nephew Richard Hug, in 1932. With several classes from the Gemological Institute Of America under his belt, it was Richard's turn to enrich the family tradition when he opened his own store under the Hug name in 1942.
