At Advantage Martial Arts, our mission is to provide a fun and engaging learning environment for families to come together and improve their physical and mental well-being. Our school, founded in March 2015 by Master Michael Sugar, is dedicated to teaching Tae Kwon Do to individuals of all ages and skill levels. Our experienced instructors, led by Master Sugar, are committed to providing top-quality classes that help students develop focus, discipline, and self-confidence.
Our History
Master Sugar, a 5th-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, has a passion for helping others, especially children, reach their full potential. With a strong believe in the benefits of martial arts training, Master Sugar opened Advantage Martial Arts to provide a family-friendly environment where individuals can come together, learn, and grow. Our school is designed to be fun, with no games or gimmicks, just a friendly and welcoming atmosphere where students can thrive.
Our Philosophy
At Advantage Martial Arts, we believe that martial arts should be a fun and rewarding experience. Our instructors are dedicated to teaching valuable life skills, such as discipline, focus, and self-respect, through the practice of Tae Kwon Do. We believe that martial arts training can benefit individuals of all ages, regardless of their starting level or ability. Our classes are designed to be challenging, yet enjoyable, with a focus on individual progression and achievement.
Our Programs
We offer a range of programs for children and adults, each designed to cater to different age groups and skill levels. Our programs include:
- Lil' Ninjas: A 30-minute class for children aged 3 and 4, focusing on fundamental martial arts skills, coordination, and focus.
- Lil' Dragons: A 45-minute class for children aged 5-7, teaching basic martial arts skills, self-defense, and the importance of hard work.
- Elite Kids: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced classes for children aged 7-16, focusing on Tae Kwon Do skills, self-defense, and personal development.
- Advanced/Black Belts Only: A 60-minute class for experienced martial arts students, focusing on advanced techniques and applications.
Our Instructors
Our instructors are experienced and certified in Tae Kwon Do, with a passion for teaching and helping others. Our instructors include Master Michael Sugar, a 5th-degree black belt and owner of Advantage Martial Arts, and Master Todd Welsh, a 6th-degree black belt and software developer. Our instructors' dedication to teaching and the martial arts is evident in the positive relationships they build with their students.
