Our story begins with the Warnecke Ranch, a family-owned vineyard that sources the premium grapes for our wines. This unique terroir, with its distinct geology and climate, allows us to produce wines that are truly expressive of the land.

Founder, Owner, and Winemaker
Alice Warnecke Sutro, an artist, winemaker, and grapegrower, founded SUTRO in 2012. With a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Stanford University and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from the California College of the Arts, Alice brings a unique perspective to the world of wine. When she's not crafting exceptional wines, Alice can be found exploring the great outdoors or continuing her artistic pursuits.
Chief of Operations and Club Manager
Kaitlin Childers, our Chief of Operations and Club Manager, ensures that our office operations and direct-to-consumer sales run smoothly. With a background in administrative roles at various wineries, Kaitlin has honed her skills in wine sales, gifting, and membership management. Outside of work, Kaitlin can be found tending to her garden and chickens with her husband and two boys.
Winemaking Advisor
Lisa Bishop Forbes, our consulting winemaker, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. With a Bachelor of Science in Enology from Fresno State University, Lisa has honed her skills as enologist, winemaker, and director of winemaking at various wineries. Her passion for crafting high-quality wines, combined with her deep understanding of our region's unique terroir, makes her the perfect advisor for our winemaking endeavors.

Join us for a unique hiking and wine tasting experience like no other. Our signature Hike & Taste event allows you to explore the volcanic terroir of Warnecke Ranch & Vineyard, learn about the soil-to-glass journey of our wines, and relax in a shaded oak grove while enjoying a guided tasting.
