RB Karate Center in San Diego
Established in 1997, the RB Karate Center (TOKC) is a proud member of the International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do Federation (IOGKF), dedicated to preserving the authentic traditions of Okinawan karate. Under the instruction of Sensei Steve Duz since 2000, our dojo emphasizes personal development, discipline, and moral values through structured training in Goju-Ryu techniques. With over 30 years of teaching experience, Sensei Duz, a 6th-degree black belt, leads a curriculum that integrates rigorous physical training with philosophical principles rooted in the Bubishi text. Our community-focused approach welcomes students of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds, fostering a supportive environment for mastering traditional martial arts. We prioritize accessibility, offering classes at multiple locations in San Diego while maintaining alignment with global IOGKF standards.Through annual seminars and international connections, we ensure students receive instruction that honors the legacy of Kanryo Higaonna and Chojun Miyagi. Our commitment extends beyond physical techniques, teaching core values that empower individuals to succeed in life. With decades of collective experience, our team upholds the integrity of Goju-Ryu, balancing hard and soft techniques as outlined in the eight precepts of Chinese Kempo. We measure progress through dedication rather than belt ranks, ensuring each students journey reflects their personal investment. As stewards of this ancient art, we strive to make traditional karate accessible, relevant, and transformative for modern practitioners.
