Empowering Independent Pharmacies, Enriching Patient Care
At Keystone Pharmacy Purchasing Alliance, our mission is to serve as the voice of independent pharmacy in the Philadelphia region. Since our inception in 1996, we have been dedicated to negotiating contracts with vendors at a better price than a store can do on its own. As a not-for-profit organization, our primary goal is to provide our members with the best possible resources and services to help them thrive in an increasingly competitive industry.
Our History
Keystone Pharmacy Purchasing Alliance was initially incorporated in March 1996 as a subsidiary of the Philadelphia Association of Retail Druggists (PARD), a non-profit professional organization. The committee started in 1990, and by 1996, it had grown to a point where it was necessary to establish a for-profit corporation to share administration fees with our members. Today, we have over 850 members, with 350 active participating members and 500 affiliate members who participate in selective contracts.
Our Services
As a purchasing alliance, we offer a range of services designed to help independent pharmacies succeed in today's challenging market. Some of the key services we provide include:
- Contract negotiation for merchandise, services, and supplies
- Discounts on everyday items used in pharmacies
- Regular communication with vendors and suppliers
- Access to a network of over 20 states
- Competitive pricing and discounts on pharmaceuticals
Our Members
Our membership consists of independent pharmacies primarily in Pennsylvania, but we also have members and affiliates in over 20 states. We are committed to providing our members with the best possible resources and services to help them thrive in an increasingly competitive industry.
Our Commitment
At Keystone Pharmacy Purchasing Alliance, we are committed to transparency and accountability. We believe that our members should benefit from our efforts, which is why we re-invest any profits back into our organization. In 2014, we disbursed over $12 million to our members, demonstrating our commitment to our members' success.
May Merchandising Tips
As we approach the end of May, we want to remind you to post your Memorial Day hours in your store and stock up on change the weekend before as banks will be closed. It's also a good idea to refresh your foot care section by trying a 3ft planogram in a 4ft space to allow room to cross-merchandise diabetic and compression socks. Don't forget to create a bag stuffer to remind customers of the basic needs they can find in your store. May is also a time to focus on Arthritis awareness, so ensure you have stock of Calcium, Vit D3, Glucosomine, Omega 3, & Tumeric.
Overall Satisfaction
The reviewer, Tracee Doroshow, is extremely satisfied with Keystone Pharmacy's services. She mentions that her son's prescription ran out, and the dermatologist contacted Keystone with a new prescription. The pharmacy called her to inform her of the price, which was surprisingly low. She was thrilled with the deal and felt like she had made a great purchase.
Cost and Value
The reviewer is amazed by the low price Keystone Pharmacy offered for the prescription. She mentions that it was free for the first three times, and when the script ran out, she was initially concerned about the cost. However, the pharmacy's price was "unreal" and blew her away. She feels lucky to have gotten such a great deal on the same product from the same manufacturer.
Speed and Convenience
Keystone Pharmacy's service was also impressive, according to the reviewer. She received the new script in just two days, which she considers to be fast turnaround time. She appreciates the convenience of not having to worry about the cost and the quick processing of her prescription.
