Embracing the joy of social dance for all

NW Dance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring the art and joy of non-competitive social dance. Our mission is to create a safe and welcoming environment for dancers of all abilities and to provide a positive experience for every dancer who attends our events.

Our Services

At NW Dance, we offer a variety of services to meet the diverse needs of our dancers. Our events are designed to bring people together to enjoy the magic of dance and to build skills, coordination, and confidence. We host live music dances each month at The Leif Erikson Hall in Ballard, featuring local bands in a warm and intimate setting with round tables and soft lighting. Our events are open to dancers of all levels, whether you're single or with a partner.

Workshops and Classes

We offer a range of workshops and classes in various dance styles, including East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Waltz, Nightclub 2-step, Lindy, Zydeco, and Country 2-step. Our experienced instructors will guide you through step-by-step instruction, helping you to develop your dance skills and build your confidence.

Instructors

Our instructors are passionate about dance and are dedicated to sharing their knowledge and expertise with our community. Our instructors have extensive experience in teaching and performing, and they bring their expertise to the dance floor every day. Meet some of our instructors:

Guy Caridi

Guy has been dancing since 1988 and has been teaching and performing internationally. He is the founder of the Savoy Swing Club and has choreographed routines for various dance competitions.

Nancy Fry

Nancy has been dancing since 1981 and has been teaching partner dance for many years. She is a founder of the Seattle Savoy Swing Club and has competed in several dance competitions with her partner, Guy Caridi.

Sean Donovan

Sean has been dancing and teaching since 1999 and has a passion for Swing, Zydeco, and Blues. He is an accomplished DJ and loves to mix grooves from various genres to keep the mood high and the dancers on the floor.

Janice Eklund

Janice is a longtime resident of Port Townsend and has been teaching dance for many years. She is the president of Port Townsend's Discovery Dance, a non-profit organization, and has taught at several dance weekends.

Our Venues

We host our events at various locations throughout the Seattle area, including The Leif Erikson Hall in Ballard, the Swedish Club, and the Seabeck Conference Center. Our venues are designed to provide a welcoming and intimate atmosphere, perfect for dancing and socializing.
