Empowering dancers, inspiring community.

At DASSdance, we are a vibrant dance company and school located in the heart of Seattle, offering a diverse range of classes in contemporary, ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, and acro. Our mission is to explore the human condition through an All-Terrain approach to dance theater that engages a diverse contemporary community. We strive to provide professional-level dance training to the under-served and the greater Seattle area, produce inclusive programming that showcases diverse artistic voices to inspire a more conscience community, and consistently compensate our professional dancers for their time spent rehearsing and performing.

Our History

Founded in 1996 by Artistic Director/Choreographer Daniel Wilkins, DASSdance was incorporated with the State of New York as a 501(c)(3) in 2000. Since then, we have established ourselves as a prominent dance company and school, known for our innovative and daring approach to dance. We have collaborated with renowned artists, designers, and festivals, and have been featured in several publications, including The New York Times, Fashion Wire Daily, and Paper Magazine.

Our Programs

At DASSdance, we offer a variety of programs and services to cater to dancers of all levels and ages. Our school provides a fun and supportive atmosphere, where students can engage in a variety of techniques, including contemporary, ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, and acro. Our summer camps and intensives offer a unique opportunity for dancers to hone their skills and learn from our experienced faculty. We also produce annual performances, including the Seattle City Nutcracker, All-4-1 Dancepalooza, and Alice in Wonderland, which showcase the talents of our students and professional dancers.

Our Community

At DASSdance, we believe in giving back to the community. We have partnered with various non-profit organizations, including Real Change, Puget Soundkeeper Alliance, Read Across America, Seattle Race Initiative, Washington Hall, Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center, and the Seattle Housing Authority, to support their causes and promote arts education. Our after-school programs and artist-in-residency programs aim to make dance accessible to underserved communities, providing a platform for social change and community engagement.

Our Team

Our faculty consists of experienced instructors who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students. Our company members are professional dancers who have performed nationally and internationally, and have worked with renowned choreographers and directors.
