Services
Shorin Ryu Karate
Traditional Okinawan martial art focusing on empty-hand techniques including punches, kicks, and blocks. Our program develops physical fitness, self-defense skills, and mental discipline through structured training. Students learn Japanese martial arts history, dojo etiquette, and formal rank testing while cultivating character through the seven virtues of Bushido.
Taiko Drumming
Dynamic Japanese drumming art combining martial arts movements with musical expression. Classes teach kuchi shoga vocal notation, basic techniques, and choreographed patterns using traditional taiko drums. Participants improve physical coordination, cultural awareness, and group cooperation while learning both performance pieces and foundational skills in a high-energy environment.
Cultural Workshops
Periodic educational sessions covering traditional Japanese arts and customs. Topics include origami paper folding, shodo calligraphy, chado tea ceremony, and kimono wearing. These workshops provide hands-on cultural experiences that complement martial arts training, offering deeper understanding of Japanese heritage through practical instruction and historical context.
Kinesio Taping
Therapeutic taping technique for muscle support and pain relief during physical activity. Available for injury prevention and recovery from martial arts training or daily activities. Certified technicians apply specialized tape to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and enhance movement efficiency while providing education on proper application techniques for continued care.
Performance Groups
Community performance opportunities combining martial arts and cultural arts for public events. Participants develop stage presence, teamwork, and presentation skills through prepared routines featuring karate demonstrations, taiko drumming, and traditional Japanese performances. Groups perform at festivals, schools, and cultural events with educational components explaining the historical significance of each presentation.
